How influential was the new media in the Brexit and Scottish independence debate?
The new media had an influential role on the way people voted for or against Brexit when the referendum was proposed. This in turn launched the vote for Scottish independence from the United Kingdom in order to remain a part of the European Union which did not happen.
This will be determined through quantitative study of opinion polls that were monitoring public opinion while comparing the information to the qualitative study of public behavior and interviews of participants during this time.
