Research Project Abstract

This original research examines the currently unanswered question of the future U.S. Supreme Court decision on the case Christie v. NCAA. The case itself presents a federalism issue about sports gambling between the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) put forth by the NCAA and the state of New Jersey. I examine the legal question and precedent to determine how each current Supreme Court Justice may vote on the issue. Through analysis of previous federalism cases in the careers of each justice, I predict the outcome of the decision.
