Description
Fr. Vincent Lebbe has returned to Europe to collect funds and find personnel for the founding of Catholic secondary schools and a newspaper in the vicariate of Tianjin; his visit to his sister Lizzi (Sister Marie-Benoît, Canonesses of St. Augustine in Westgate, England) to discuss these matters becomes the occasion of a family reunion. Standing from right to left: Ying Chianli 英千里 (young son of Ying Lianzhi 英斂之), Robert (Lebbe’s brother) and his wife Aline, Firmin (Lebbe’s father), Mica (Lebbe’s other sister) and her fiancé Jacques Thoreau; front row: Lizzi with Robert’s children (Marie-Louise and Maurice), Fr. Lebbe, Louise (Lebbe’s mother), and Adrien (Lebbe’s other brother a Benedictine monk in Maredsous).
