The back of the photograph is handwritten in Latin by Bp. Joseph Fan (Fan Heng’an 范恆安) of Jining to commemorate the end of the annual retreat preached by Bp. Joseph Tchang (Zhang Runbo 張潤波) and the ordination of two new priests for the vicariate apostolic of Jining. Front row seating, left to right: a newly ordained priest; Bp. Joseph Zhang Runbo 張潤波 of Xuanhua; Bp. Joseph Fan 范恆安 of Jining; Fr. Joseph Hoogers 高,CICM, (former prefect apostolic of Datong), in charge of the native Sisters of the Presentation of the Holy Virgin; and the other newly ordainged priest. Standing: priests of the vicariate apostolic of Jining.
