Effect of Cold Storage Duration on Tensile Strength of Bovine Hind Limb Cortical Bone

Christopher Clark, Gonzaga University

Research Project Abstract

Bone samples are often not tested immediately but are stored for later testing. An important consideration of this storage is if, and how to what degree, the duration of cold storage affects the mechanical properties of bone samples. To this end, Samples of bovine hind limb will be subjected to varying durations of cold storage. Then, tensile testing specimens will be fabricated from these samples and tested for yield strength.
